Bern Hotels, Switzerland
Bern or Berne City is the capital city of Switzerland and its federal city. It is the country’s 4th most populous city.
The name ‘Bern’ could be coming from an Italian city called Verona, or from Celtic origin ‘berna’ to mean “cleft”. Earlier, Bern can also be associated to the bear animals which were being kept alive in the 15th century. The bear is in the seal and coat of arms of Bern since 1220s.
German (the Swiss variety of Standard) is the official language but the main spoken language is the Bernese German. The historic old town at the center of Bern got enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Site and Bern is one of the top ten cities for quality living.
