Los Angeles Hotels
Located in a basin in Southern California, the city is surrounded by vast mountain ranges, valleys, forests, beautiful beaches along the Pacific Ocean, and neighboring desert.
The metropolitan area is the second-most populous in the USA and home to over 17 million people who hail from all areas of the globe. The area is spread across Los Angeles County, Orange County, and parts of San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and Ventura County.
Los Angeles is international trade, networking, an important center of culture, medicine, agriculture, business, finance, energy, aerospace, science, food processing, and tourism. Many motion picture deals and premieres still occur in Los Angeles, but the majority of those films are actually shot elsewhere. Additionally, L.A. remains a major facility for production of television shows and television commercials, as well as music recordings.
Nowadays, the market of Southern California is primarily driven by its other industries: its enormous oil refineries, its tens of quite mundane factories and food processing facilities, and its active seaports and airports, with the result that the U.S. Customs district covering the region is the busiest in the United States.
Moreover, at least in the English-speaking world, it is still obligatory for most celebrities-to-be to live for several years in L.A. till they make it big in Hollywood. Most of them ultimately flee elsewhere as soon as they get sick and tired of being chased by crazed fans, tourists, and paparazzi, and only once they've hooked up with the top talent agents in Hollywood (meaning that today the best scripts and scripts come to them, rather than the other way around). Thus, L.A. is infamous for its celebrity-oriented culture, as exemplified by the "star maps" offered at tourist traps that feature known locations of stars' homes.
Food & Drink
So which really has the better food scene: LA or SF? LA packs one heck of a punch while the latter may claim Michelin stars. It is here that you will find California's best tacos, the nation's most authentic Korean and one of the nation's most significant concentrations of vegan restaurants. Moreover, in regards to imbibing, SF take a cable car home. From dirty martinis to craft brews in a steampunk bowling alley, in a basement power station, LA has a knack for turning drinking sessions into adventures worthy of a toast or three.
House to Hollywood is a city where fantastical notions are encouraged; a place wrapped in endless layers of mythology and modern legend. Every year dreamers pour itching to share their stories with LA and the world -- on screen and stage, in lyrics, or on the whitewashed walls of galleries. The outcome is an electrifying whirlpool of creativity: acclaimed concert halls rock venues, edgy art spaces and thought-provoking periods, all fueling a city addicted to the bizarre, the unusual and the scandalous.
Envy is an ugly thing, New York. Angelenos are active counting on their blessings that are copious, tying up their hiking boots and riding waves, while your denizens spend their time throwing and sniffling shade in the snow. Consider it: in many megalopolises can you gallop across mountains nine miles? Despite its headcount that is heaving, LA is a town indelibly tied to mighty Mother Nature. Here, hillsides that are flower-carpeted are back onto golden beaches, city streets led up to by dense neighborhoods, and enormous skies are an IMAX screen for lingering sunsets made to pierce your heart.
LA's obsession with creative expression extends to mortar and its stucco. After all, this is where movie palaces look like ancient Egyptian tombs and temples, where soda bottling plants look like ocean liners that are landlocked and curve like cartoon characters, and where concerts halls twist. Truly, LA celebrates architectural diversity.
