Astana Brief Background
Astana is the capital city of Kazakhstan. The city was designed by a Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa.
Astana is where you can find the Parliament House, the Supreme Court, the Ak Orda Presidential Palace and other governmental offices.
Astana is also home to sports, healthcare, education, modern building, hotels and futuristic structures.
The name ‘Astana’ means “the capital” in Kazakh language. It is nestled on a spacious steppe landscape and is considered the second coldest capital city in the world – after Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia. The capital has extreme continental climate.
